About the Owners
Dominic and Monique Pickett married in 2014 and founded 317 Proper in 2019 as a way to serve their community together. The perfect pair, Dominic’s unwavering passion for volunteer work and Monique’s all-inclusive management experience have helped build a company that provides people with secure, community-based opportunities. Together, they work to serve their community and ensure their employees, tenants, and partners feel valued as their company grows.

Since our founding in 2019, 317 Proper has been working to strengthen the relationship between healthy, happy households and thriving communities. Our affordable housing options and supportive employment opportunities help individuals and families grow wealth and feel secure in their environment.
For us, real estate and property management are about providing for others and supporting our community. Together, we believe we can establish a modern, ethical approach to real estate that is inclusive and accessible for all.
Housing
317 Proper was founded on the belief that safe, affordable housing should never be hard to find. As a couple with three young children, Dominic and Monique understand the necessity of a comfortable home environment. 317 Proper’s compassionate property management style helps provide an environment that allows families to thrive.

Generosity
Volunteer Projects
Outside of 317 Proper, Dominic Pickett is an engineer at Microsoft and a passionate community volunteer. For him, giving back isn’t just a business ideology. It’s a part of everyday life. Through multiple volunteer projects and groups, Dominic has proven that a bit of
generosity can make a big difference. This mindset holds true for 317 Proper, continuously building on its foundational focus of serving others.
A Heart for Giving Back
Some of Dominic’s most valued volunteer work has been with his Alma Mater, Rutgers University. As president of the University’s Charlotte-based Alumni Association, Dominic hosts events, welcomes new members, raises capital for the charter, and works with the association to donate money and services to charity.
Community-Based
In his free time, you can find Dominic refining his own adopted road in Charlotte, NC. He cares for the 2-mile stretch during bi-monthly volunteer trips by picking up trash and keeping the area clean. The hard work is satisfying, but Dominic takes the most pride in giving back to his community.
Serving Others
Dominic has spent over eight years volunteering with his Charlotte-based church group, Men of Acts. The group provides general home maintenance and fix-it services to community members. From mending fences and mowing lawns to building home ramps, Dominic has always been the person to step up and serve others.
